About Me
Meggi Schöngen
By now most of you have probably already received my official letter of introduction along with other Penn State materials. But, just to be on the safe side, let me introduce myself again (besides, the letter you got was pretty official and cluttered with administrative details).

I just turned 42 (sigh!) and have been married for 12 years to the coolest guy there is . I am originally from Germany--my entire family still lives there, which allows both sides of the family to have an excuse for great transatlantic vacations.

I got my degrees from the University of Cologne, Germany (undergraduate, English and French literature and linguistics) and Penn State (graduate, English and Comparative Literature). One of my passions is teaching and I have been "at it" for 18 years. Over the years I have taught First Year composition (English 15), Women's Studies, Business Writing, Literature and Research, Basic English, English as a Second Language, Technical Writing, Advanced Technical Writing, and a whole host of other courses in traditional and non-traditional settings through both Penn State (main campus, Continuing Education, and World Campus) and the New York Institute of Technology (Old Westbury and Manhattan campuses).

So, if you want to, you can structure this course around your particular academic or professional interests--chances are, I have taught a course in the area!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email or call me (see official letter for contact information).

Looking forward to working with you!!!!
